While Dr. Banks holds professional credentials and ecclesiastical credentials, she is not a state licensed counselor. Instead she is licensed as clergy and is subject to state clergy exemption laws. She is a clinical Christian counselor and professional life coach who is highly trained, credentialed, certified and licensed by the top Christian counselors associations in the nation. She is equipped to provide religious counsel around issues relating to spiritual and psychological health and wellness. The state recognizes that counseling is one of the responsibilities of the church and its clergy. For this reason, the state must not and does not interfere with the Ministry of Counseling. Christian Counseling or Life Coaching
To help you better determine whether you need the services of a Christian counselor or a life coach, take a look at the areas of focus for each. While a Christian counselor takes a look at your past to see what's in it that's preventing you to receive wholeness and restoration, a life coach assumes a "healthy you" and is interested in where you are now and how to best hep you move to where you want to go. Both are designed to provide help to an individual; however Christian counselor is focused on one's past, while life coaching focuses on an individual's here and now.
People who seek the help of a counselor are usually struggling with an issue or problem that has gotten the best of them and are in need of professional help. People who seek the services of a life coach are stuck, and need help in setting and accomplishing goals, finding clarity, structure, momentum needed to move forward.

Both our Christian counseling services utilize the Arno Profile System (APS), a clinical diagnostic tool that assesses an individual's God-given temperament.
