While Dr. Demetria Banks holds professional credentials and ecclesiastical credentials, she is not a state licensed counselor. Instead she is licensed as clergy and is subject to state clergy exemption laws. She is a clinical Christian counselor and professional life coach who is highly trained, credentialed, certified and licensed by the top Christian counselors associations in the nation. She is equipped to provide religious counsel around issues relating to spiritual and psychological health and wellness. The state recognizes that counseling is one of the responsibilities of the church and its clergy. For this reason, the state must not and does not interfere with the Ministry of Counseling.
