Evangelist Demetria Springfield Banks, a.k.a. "Dr. Dee," is a powerful intercessor and anointed vessel whose life is dedicated to ministering in God's service. She is uniquely anointed to dismantle spiritual strongholds and usher souls into sacred spaces of breakthrough. Indeed, her ministry is marked by an undeniable authority that shifts atmospheres, ignites healing, and ushers in deliverance.
Evangelist Banks is also a gifted author, having penned seven books that carry a mantle of healing, deliverance and breakthrough in the areas of prayer, emotional healing, overcoming workplace challenges, and excelling in Christian living.
She faithfully serves at Temple of Deliverance Church of God In Christ (COGIC), under the leadership of Bishop Milton R. Hawkins (founder Bishop Gilbert E. Patterson), in multiple impactful roles including: Leadership and Development Coordinator, Executive Team Member of the Women's Department, Intercessory Prayer Leader, Support Ministry Co-Coordinator for the Women's Department and Trainer for the Male Chorus Praise Team.
Her ministry goes beyond the local level as she actively serves on the Tennessee Fourth Jurisdiction’s Prayer Team and is a member of the Women’s Department Workshop Committee. At the national level, she is a committed member of the International Department of Women's Prayer Team. She also considers it a profound privilege to labor in prayer alongside other distinguished intercessors during COGIC's shut-ins and services.
Evangelist Banks’ unwavering commitment to transformation also extends far beyond the sanctuary. Through both community-based and online workshops and classes, she empowers individuals to rise above mental, emotional, and spiritual barriers preventing them from living their best life.
She was awarded a Doctorate of Philosophy in Clinical Christian Counseling from Heritage International Bible College and Seminary, a MPA from the University of Memphis, and a BA in Psychology from Christian Brothers University. She is also a licensed evangelist with COGIC and holds a licensure in Christian Counseling and certification in Life and Mental Health Coaching. Although proud of her scholastic achievements, Dr. Dee's passion is to minister healing to the hurting and win souls for Christ.
She is married to Walter James Banks, Jr. They reside in Memphis, TN.
